MINI-PCNL
Minimally Invasive Kidney Stone Surgery
What is Mini-PCNL?
Mini-PCNL is an advanced modification of conventional PCNL that uses a significantly smaller access tract and miniature instruments to remove kidney stones. This reduces trauma to the kidney while maintaining excellent stone clearance rates.
Mini-PCNL is particularly suitable for medium-sized kidney stones and patients who require a less invasive treatment option.
Procedure
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. After imaging guidance, a small puncture is made through the skin into the kidney. A miniaturized nephroscope is introduced, allowing direct visualization of the stone.
Using advanced laser technology, stones are fragmented and removed through the small access tract.
Advantages of Mini-PCNL
- Smaller puncture size
- Less bleeding
- Reduced postoperative pain
- Faster recovery
- Short hospital stay
- Excellent cosmetic outcome
- High stone clearance rates
Why Choose Mini-PCNL?
Compared with standard PCNL, Mini-PCNL offers lower complication rates while maintaining excellent treatment effectiveness for appropriately selected patients.
