We were proud to install the first individual dornier lithotripsy machine in pune in 2002. We were also proud to start the first plasma kinetic energy, in maharashtra, for turp using acmi (using normal saline as irrigating medium) in 2004. Subsequently it was upgraded to gyrus pk machine in 2006.
In 2010 the latest laser machine used for prostate operation namely thulium latest 120 watt was installed (quanta ,italy). This was the first 120 watt thulium laser machine in india. Dr ketan vartak is a pioneer in thulium laser education of prostate surgery in india. He has published papers related to this technique in international journals. He has also demonstrated the technique of thulium laser in many live operative workshops and urological conferences in india.
